How We Test Mattresses
To deliver fully objective, trustworthy evaluations, our testing laboratory relies on scientific methodologies. Here are our main evaluation stages:
1. Spine Neutrality Sensor Mapping
We place multiple digital pressure mapping sensors on sleepers of various sizes. We analyze if the lumbar region is properly aligned when sleeping on back, side, and stomach. Only mattresses that prevent excessive pelvis sink score above an 8.5 in support.
2. Heat Dispersion & Retentiveness Testing
Heat retention causes nighttime waking. We place high-density heat sensors on the mattress cover and track thermal dispersion over a 60-minute cycle under a standardized 72°F ambient room temperature. Materials like natural Talalay latex and hyper-elastic GelFlex grids naturally score higher than dense foams.
